Valerie Kanter, DMD, MS, is a board-certified endodontist, naturopath, and third-generation dentist based in Los Angeles.
In 2014 she dismantled the way she'd been trained to practice. What replaced it was Functional Integrative Regenerative Endodontics — the most advanced regenerative protocols currently available, designed not to remove a tooth from the body but to restore its living connection to it.
She believes saving a natural tooth is never only about the tooth. Every root is a channel the body uses to communicate with itself and beyond. Remove one and something goes quiet that no replacement restores.
She teaches advanced clinical endodontics at UCLA, lectures internationally, and co-founded the Institute for Functional Dentistry to train clinicians in the oral-systemic science that dental school still doesn't teach.
Her work has been featured on podcasts with Gwyneth Paltrow, Dr. Joseph Mercola, and Wendy Myers.
